St. Martin’s School is proud to announce the appointment of Stephen C. Lamont as our new principal, effective July 1, 2018.
Mr. Lamont comes to St. Martin’s from St. Philip the Apostle in Camp Spring, Maryland where he served for the past year as interim principal. Prior to that, he spent four years as principal at St. Bartholomew’s School in Bethesda. Before becoming principal at St. Bartholomew’s, Mr. Lamont served as the Assistant Principal and math teacher at Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Lamont has fourteen years of experience as an educator and holds a Masters of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Mr. Lamont with his wife Helen, live in Bethesda with their four children. He is originally from the Boston, Massachusetts area.
“In Catholic schools, along with our commitment to educational excellence, we receive the call to be in the presence and life of Jesus. Our role as Catholic educators is to deliver Christ’s love to our children along with fostering academic success. My goal is to work collaboratively with the faculty as we continue those successes,” said Mr. Lamont during a recent faculty and staff meeting.
