Our Aftercare program offers a vibrant, caring space where students can decompress, learn, and create each afternoon. From structured homework time, to hands-on workshops, and outdoor adventures, we support every child’s growth with heart and purpose.
Registration & Forms
To begin enrollment, families must submit the following:

State Emergency Contact Form
This Emergency Contact Form is required by the Maryland State Department of Education.

Copy of Office of Childcare and Physical Examination Certification Form
This form is to be completed for all children.

Copy of Forms for Students with Special Needs and/or Allergies
Inhaled Medication Authorization Form (for inhaler)

Handbook Signature Page
Acknowledgment of program policies page, signed and dated from the Handbook.

Aftercare Scholarship Assistance Program
Families are welcome to apply for The Working Parents Assistance Program (WPA) for financial assistance.
Payment Note:
Please submit all Aftercare payments by cash or check, made payable to St. Martin of Tours School. Be sure to include a note or memo on the check that says “Aftercare for [Child’s Name],” and deliver it directly to Mrs. Ruiz.
Daily Schedule 2:40pm - 6:00pm
We have a consistent schedule Monday - Thursday.
Arrival & snack
2:40 pm - 3:00 pm
Students settle in with a light snack while carpool wraps up.

3:10 pm - 3:40 pm
Weather permitting, kids enjoy fresh air and physical activity before homework.
Homework&
Quiet Time
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Focused academic time. Chromebook access available for grades 1–2.
Gym &
free play
5:00 pm - 5:40 pm
After homework, students play in the gym until pickup begins.
Half- Day is from 12:15 pm - 5:00 pm
Students enjoy extended free play and field trips to the City Hall Park.
Fun Friday's!
Friday's bring on a new set of activities for our children to explore while in aftercare.
Creative Projects
like building mini aquariums or baseball fields using child-safe tools (hammers, nails, paint, wood chips).
Ms. Ro's Monthly Workshop
Hands-on themes like “Toucan Sam Builds a Nest” or designing a playground.
Games
Bingo, UNO, dominoes, cards, and air hockey.
Optional Screen Time
With parental permission, kids may bring their iPads to use for up to 45 minutes.
Reading & Movie Moments
If homework is finished early, students may read or occasionally watch a short film (state permission pending).
