Faith at the heart of St. Martin School of Tours

At St. Martin of Tours School, our Catholic faith is more than a subject, it’s the foundation of our community. From daily prayer to service projects, students grow in spirit, character, and compassion.

Daily Prayer and Spiritual Growth

Students begin and end each day with student-led prayer, creating a rhythm of reflection and gratitude. Religious instruction is woven throughout all subjects, helping children connect their learning to Gospel values.

Whether praying for a sick friend, thanking God for a sunny day, or saying a Hail Mary when an ambulance passes, students experience faith in everyday moments.

School Wide Mass and Worship

Each month, our school gathers for Mass in the church. Students take active roles by reading, writing petitions, serving as altar servers, and presenting gifts. The school choir and cantors lead us in song, making each liturgy joyful and meaningful.

Easter

Faith isn’t just taught, it’s lived every day at St. Martin’s of Tours Catholic School

Service in Action

Inspired by Christ’s example, students participate in service projects that support our local community. School-wide efforts include:

  • Thanksgiving & Lenten Food Drives

  • Christmas Hat & Glove Drive

  • Grade-level service projects led by teachers and parents

We believe these experiences help students develop empathy, generosity, and a lifelong commitment to helping others.

Sacramental Preperation

Here at SMS, faith milestones are celebrated with reverence, joy, and community.

  • Second Grade: Preparation for First Holy Communion and Reconciliation

  • Seventh & Eighth Grade: Two-year Confirmation journey, culminating in spring of eighth grade

Students deepen their understanding of Jesus’ presence, mercy, and love through these sacred milestones.

Faith Buddies and Community Building

Elementary and middle school students are paired for Mass, prayer services, and school-wide events. These partnerships foster leadership, responsibility, and friendships rooted in shared faith.

Ms. Villars

Spanish, PE and Homeroom Teacher

"Well as a student and even as a teacher, I LOVE how we are a small community. It makes it even better because we really get to know all the kids, more than just their name and grade, we get to know their interests and hobbies. I chose to be here to give back to the community that molded me into the person I am today. I also chose to be here to use my college education and help the future generations to come."
